For our new client, Koch Türen, we implemented an extensive new web presence. The previously very production-oriented view of Koch Türen's services and product offerings needed to be redeveloped in terms of a needs-oriented customer experience. Systemic barriers from ERP, file storage, and person-dependent knowledge had to be overcome.

Andreas Koch, Managing Director of Koch Türen, came to us with the vision of creating "The Path to the Right Door". We love challenges – our team was excited, as we knew that brand messaging, user experience design, and structured data management needed to be interwoven to bring this great future vision to life. The strategic brand communication team established a foundation in communication with a jointly developed master narrative and personas. Based on the needs of the personas, the path to the door was worked out step by step. Supplemented by an SEO research, the sitemap and user guidance were designed in a prototype and verified with Koch Türen and potential customers.


Many paths lead to the right door. We offer different entry points: by door type, preferred material, door usage, installation location, etc. When the interested party is convinced that Koch Türen is the right provider, the paths ultimately lead to a door configurator.

Result & Impact

In the door configurator, you can assemble the desired door in a specific room, in the interior and exterior view, and immediately view it photorealistically. Designs, materials, handles, etc., are clearly structured and selectable. Technical terms from production were translated so that an interested party can find their way and gradually make small, simple decisions to find their right door. The configuration can be sent as an individual link to one's inbox, or a request is directly sent to the nearest Koch Türen partner joiner, who will handle further order processing. A small online store for care and sample items, as well as a newsletter tool, complete the digital ecosystem and enable better service offerings and more efficient processes at Koch Türen.

Content Management System

The Austrian OpenSource CMS Pimcore was used as the technical basis for both the website and the door configurator. While the document editor allows the KOCH team to maintain content independently, quickly, and intuitively, the underlying system takes care of all optimizations regarding page load times, image display, and SEO ranking. Additionally, all interactions of visitors on the site are anonymously recorded and segmented in the system. This allows for a better understanding of preferences and the ability to target content according to preferences in the future.
